How to Play Arrow Maze
Video Tutorial
Basic Rules
- 1. The Grid
Arrow Maze is played on a square grid (5×5 to 8×8). Each cell contains an arrow pointing in one direction (up, down, left, or right).
- 2. Starting Point
Begin at the cell marked with a gold dot (typically the top-left corner). This is your starting position.
- 3. Following Arrows
From any cell, you can move to any cell along the direction the arrow points. For example, if an arrow points right, you can move to any cell in that row to the right of your current position.
- 4. Reaching the Goal
Your objective is to find a path from the start to the goal cell (typically the bottom-right corner, marked with another gold dot).
- 5. Valid Moves Only
You can only move in the direction an arrow points. Highlighted cells show your valid next moves.
Visual Example
Cyan cells show one possible path. Gold border marks the start. ★ is the goal.
How Movement Works
When you're on a cell with an arrow, you can move to any cell in the direction the arrow points, not just the adjacent cell.
Example: If you're on a cell with → (right arrow):
- You can move to any cell to the right in the same row
- You cannot move up, down, or left
- The cells you can reach are highlighted when you select a cell
Tips & Strategies
- Work backwards — Sometimes it's easier to find which cells can reach the goal and work backwards from there.
- Use the hints toggle — The highlighted cells show valid moves. Use this to quickly see your options.
- Look for dead ends — Some cells lead nowhere. Identify and avoid them.
- Plan ahead — Don't just look at immediate moves. Consider where each move can lead.
- Try different paths — If stuck, use Undo to backtrack and try a different route.
